The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) definition of small business, which is any non-employing business or a business employing fewer than 20 people. So under this definitions, most cafes & restaurants would be classified as small businesses. Most actively trading businesses (61 percent) had no employees, 28% had 1-4, 9 percent had 5-19, 2% had 20-199, and less than 1% had 200 or more. In 2014-15, business entry and exit rates were highest for businesses with no employees. The ABS reports that employees worked 1,664.2 million hours in December 2016 Australian Businesses employed 12,059,600 workers in 2016. So that breaks down to 8,238,600 Full-time employees & 3,821,000 Part time employees. So your employees worked on average 137.99 hours for the month of December. So that means your employees worked on average 6.899 hours a day
