Nestlé Golden Chef's Hat Award 2011

Entries are now open for this year’s Nestlé Golden Chef's Hat Award which recognises our most talented up-and-coming junior and apprentice chefs.It’s the longest running and only annual competition that tests culinary cooking skills at a regional level, right through to a national final cook-off that will be held in September.Entries are open for teams of two must to enter for a chance to represent their region in the program of regional cook offs that lead to the main event. May 6 is the closing date for entries.Each year the program awards two chefs under the age of 25 the opportunity to develop their career through overseas training. The two young chefs named the 2011 national winners will be awarded an international travel prize, worth $15,000, to advance their culinary careers.Last year’s winners Cameron Wetton and Shane Middleton from the Perth Convention Centre will be heading off on their prize trip which includes work experience at the famed Charlie Trotter’s restaurant.It was the second year in a row the talented duo had grabbed the top accolade at the awards.To enter head to nestle-goldenchefs.com.au
