Dining out and Beat World Hunger

The From Cup to Crop campaign, an initiative of Plan International Australia, has enlisted Australia’s culinary stars as well as restaurants and cafes around the country to raise money for the cause.Love dining out? Want to help children affected by hunger and malnutrition? Dine at one of the participating restaurants from 15 March to 15 April 2011, where you can add a donation of $3 or more to your bill. Your donation will go directly to Plan’s food relief programs in Africa, providing vital food supplies to hungry children and their families. A list of participating restaurants will be online shortly. Lock the dates in and enjoy Dining to Donate!During March, some of Australia's top foodies and media personalities will embark on the “Cup to Crop Challenge”, attempting to live on just $3 a day for one day a week. The Challenge will highlight the fact that $3 can feed a child in a developing country for ten days, and it will give the participants an insight into the type of choices that people who struggle with poverty and hunger are faced with every day.
